Animal Welfare
Organizations
I am an animal
welfare supporter and pet owner. I believe all animals should have the best quality of life that we can
provide for them, even for those which do not live with us.
I suspect that
all domesticated animals are born because a human somewhere made a decision that resulted in their birth...and most
often that decision was not to spay or neuter. They need to take responsibility for the consequences
of their decisions.
Animal Welfare
Organizations are the caretakers who pick up the slack for humans who fail to take
responsibility.
The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest animal welfare
organization. Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all
animals.
The HSUS mission statement: Celebrating Animals, Confronting Cruelty.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated
to preventing cruelty towards animals.
It is the oldest, and first animal welfare organization in the United States, established in
1866.

The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) is an American non-profit law organization that aims to protect the
rights and advance the interests of animals through the legal system
They aim to ensure that state criminal anti-cruelty statutes are vigorously enforced and that those
convicted of animal cruelty and neglect receive appropriate sentences.

All
animals are our fellow species and they have the same right to live their lives here on earth, free from abuse,
from being tortured and hunted.
In a world where animals are
often exploited and mistreated, it is important that people become dedicated to providing a voice for the
voiceless. We can help promote kindness by the choices that you make on a daily basis.
I am partial to those who offer aid and sanctuary and take heart that there are intelligent, kind and
loving people doing what they can to reduce suffering in the world.
